Lync 2010 Delegated access for booking meetings

Recently had a client request delegated access to allow a PA to book Online meetings on behalf of a Manger. The client did not have Enterprise voice so the key is to set the ClientPolicy setting EnableExchangeDelegateSync.  In short this passes through the delegated permissions of a mailbox through to Lync.

So here’s how you do it:

  • Disabled the Client Policy setting: Set-CsClientPolicy -EnableExchangeDelegateSync $False
  • Enable the Client Policy setting: Set-CsClientPolicy -EnableExchangeDelegateSync $True
  • Added the user to the Manager’s Delegate list within Outlook.
  • Logged the Manager out of Lync.
  • Logged Manager back into Lync. the new user then appeared within the Delegates group in Lync.
  • New user can then schedule an Online Meeting for the Manager.
