SQL 2008 Cluster – Tricks for new players

Currently implementing a SQL 2008 cluster following this guide – http://www.mssqltips.com/tip.asp?tip=1709

However there are some gotchas that need to be mentioned when setting up the Cluster.

· After creating the Cluster – be aware the cluster disk numbers are not the same as reported in Windows Storage manager

· When installing MSDTC it tries to create a machine name in the domain and assign the Cluster machine name Full control else it will fail
